Andrew Patalano

Community Director - Cortner and Melrose Halls

Email: Andrew_Patalano@redlands.edu

Andrew is about to enter his senior year at the University of Redlands and about to embark the exciting new challenge of being Community Director of Melrose and Cortner Hall. He will miss his original home at the University of Redlands, Merriam Hall, where he’s been lucky enough to spend three fun years, working the last two as a Community Assistant on the second floor. In the 2012-2013 year Andrew will also be finishing his B.S. in Chemistry, continuing his research of Ruthenium-centered oxidation catalysts and working towards getting into a doctoral program for Inorganic Chemistry after graduation (to start in fall 2013). Andrew’s other interests include food politics and reform, art, cooking, zymurgy and lifelong fascination of the physical sciences. Andrew hopes to spend his last year here in Cortner and Melrose doing everything he can to give his residents a safe, fun and productive year and to make them feel at home at the dear old U of R we love so well!

Email: Danielle_Willis-thom@redlands.edu

Danielle is a senior at the good ol’ UoR, finishing up an English major and Women’s and Gender Studies minor.  She grew up in Menifee, CA, which you’ve probably never heard of, but it smells like cows.   Danielle will be serving as the Community Director of Grossmont Hall for the 2012-2013 school year and is beyond excited!  Danielle likes cheese, books, the color turquoise, and puns.  Danielle coordinates the UoR’s Summer Bridge and STEP programs, enjoys membership in Sigma Tau Delta and LUST, and participates in Intramural Volleyball and The Vagina Monologues.  Danielle is anticipating a spectacular year for the wonderful women of Grossmont, and for the whole Bulldog family.

Philip Jackson

Community Coordinator - Johnston Complex

Email: Philip_Jackson@redlands.edu

Phil has been bellowing “buffalo” in some shape or form since he was just eight years old, reenacting the Battle of San Juan Hill with his fellow Rough Riders in the Texas Hill Country. There he learned of the significance of the buffalo as well as the Lakota word for the animal, Tatonka (pronounced “tuh-tonk-uh”). He may not have always known that the buffalo was in his blood, but it has gradually revealed itself over the course of these last fourteen years as he’s roamed from home to home, prairie to prairie, Texas to California, CA (to CD) to CC, Bekins to Holt, Holt to Bekins.  His hobbies include extreme ironing.
