The group, whose acronym stands for People Respecting Individuality, Diversity and Equality, was established to provide a safe, supportive atmosphere for all students, including those looking to explore and define their sexual identity.

PRIDE holds weekly meetings and sponsors a number of on-campus social and educational events, including PRIDE week held each spring. Pride Week culminates in the ever-popular Drag Ball.

The group, which was once known as the Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual Student Union, holds their meetings in the University’s Pride Center.


There are more than 1,700 trees on the University of Redlands campus.

In April 2010, it was designated a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation. Redlands is among just three other colleges or universities in California to receive this designation.
