MEChA is an acronym for Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, a national organization that stages a number of events on campus, including a Day of the Dead event in the fall. Students interested in exploring Chicano/Mexican-American/Latino culture can participate in the Redlands chapter of MEChA. The organization is open to all students, regardless of ethnicity.

There are more than 1,700 trees on the University of Redlands campus.

In April 2010, it was designated a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation. Redlands is among just three other colleges or universities in California to receive this designation.
