ASUR Cabinet

ASUR Cabinet is a culmination of the highest leaders on campus. Members of the cabinet are chosen each year by the ASUR President Elect after an application process. They then must be interviewed and confirmed by the ASUR Senate. The members come from various branches of student government and work together to resolve various issues around campus, while leading the student body. Areas of campus represented are: Convocations and Lectures, Greek Life, PEERS, Social Affairs, Diversity and Inclusion, Sustainability, Finance, Judicial Council, ASUR Senate, Clubs and Organizations, and Johnston.  

ASUR President

Kamal Bilal

The ASUR President is the chief spokesperson of the student body and is responsible for overseeing the administration of student government. The ASUR President is responsible for appointing and leading the ASUR Cabinet, composed of approximately 16 student leaders driven to provide fun and educational opportunities to the campus community. Representing the student voice and serving as the liaison between students and administration is one of the main tasks of the ASUR President. Other duties include creating and managing the ASUR Budget, attending meetings with the Board of Trustees, acting as the chief negotiator on behalf of ASUR, completing independent projects, and holding a minimum of 20 office hours per week. 

ASUR Vice President

The ASUR Vice President is responsible for advising the ASUR President on important campus-wide issues and providing support to other Cabinet members. The ASUR Vice President also serves as Cabinet's record keeper.

Executive Director of Clubs and Organizations

Maddy Petrone

The Executive Director of Clubs and Organizations will oversee the operations of the Club and Organization Advisory Board [COAB], budget funding for club allocations and COAB projects, and assist students interested in starting a new club/organization. COAB consists of a small committee of students who are dedicated to helping the many clubs and organizations on campus by allocating funding for club projects and by answering questions that students may have. The Executive Director and the COAB committee plan leadership conferences for club/organization presidents and directors, involvement fairs to showcase various clubs on campus, and an awards banquet at the end of the year to commemorate students and organizations for their brilliance.

Executive Director of Convocations and Lectures

Brenna Phillips


Responsibilities include bringing guest speakers from different backgrounds to campus, arranging panel debates, and addressing as many student interests as possible. The Executive Director coordinates with different academic departments, organizations, and clubs to improve co-sponsored events and creates an effective collaboration between Convocations Lectures Series and the rest of campus to encourage a wider conversation on the issues of today.

Executive Director of Finance

Jake Madden

The Executive Director of Finance is in charge of managing all of the financial transactions that take place within ASUR. This includes assisting all branches of ASUR and all clubs and organizations on campus with budgeting, fundraising, reimbursements, and transfers. The Executive Director oversees all account balances under the ASUR budget, while working with the Director of Leadership and Involvement and the ASUR President.

Johnston Facilitator of ASUR Relations

Evan Furgurson

The Johnston Facilitator of ASUR is responsible for helping Johnston students find resources in the wider university and guiding university students who are interested in the Johnston Community.  The Johnston Facilitator acts as Johnston’s voice on campus, takes concerns back to the Johnston Community, and makes individual students comfortable in bridging the gap between Johnston and the greater university community.

Judicial Chair

Donald Hall

The ASUR Judicial Chair leads the Judicial Branch of ASUR. They interpret and revise the ASUR Constitution, ensuring that it is a living and learning document. The Judicial Chair is also responsible for helping in the club approval process, by approving a new club's constitution. By doing this, the ASUR Judicial Chair ensures a fully functioning student government that represents the students of the University of Redlands.

Co-Greek Life Representatives

Makenzi Hughes and Win Frazin

The Co- Greek Representatives serve as a liaison between the Greek Community and ASUR Cabinet to keep communication between the two communities clear. They also put on Greek Week annually to allow the Greek community to bond and earn points that go towards the Greek Cup. The Greek Representatives meet with the Greek community weekly to relay current information and meet with administrators to discuss current events involving the community. The Greek Representatives also work with other organizations to co-host events with different groups of campus.

ASUR Senate is the student voice at the University of Redlands. Senate works with the entire campus community to better the collective University experience, and to implement projects alongside supporting clubs, student organizations, and events. Your ASUR Senators are here to serve as a resource for you.

Executive Director of Social Affairs

Mariah Rodriguez

Social Affairs is a student-led organization composed of enthusiastic and excited student programmers! Social Affairs' main objective is to provide a diverse range of programs, events, activities, and much more to the student body. These events span from movie nights on the Quad, to music concerts on the plaza patio, and everything in-between. Social Affairs is organized between 7 different director positions: Movie Series, Special Events, Novelties & Performers, Music Series, Digital Media, Publicity, and Major Events. In order to provide multiple fun and relaxing events for students, we host around 2-5 events in a given week throughout the entire school year. We are the organization most popularly known for hosting Homecoming week festivities, Third Thursdays and Free Krikorians, and Fall Fest. We constantly strive to co-sponsor programs with other clubs, organization, and departments across campus.

Sustainability Representative

Mara Sherline

The Sustainability Representative creates ways to ensure energy efficiency, encourages basic sustainable practices such as recycling and reuse of materials, and improves conscious choices in regard to food and transportation. This position provides opportunities for students to converse amongst campus aspects and respond to student needs by collaborating with administration.
