Gardeners in Residence are University work-study and CSAC/CER students who have elected to participate in constructing and maintaining produce fields and flower garden beds in our traditional and sustainable garden areas.
Student gardeners are able to perform general gardening tasks such as planning, planting, harvesting, weeding, pruning, irrigation, water pond maintenance, and basic garden upkeep. Gardeners are encouraged to design new garden areas as needed.
In addition to working on the Sustainable University of Redlands Farm (SURF) the Gardeners in Residence program has partnered with local elementary schools, senior care facilities, and others programs to teach basic gardening skills to elementary school children and others.
