Subject: Safety Bulletin - Prowler on Campus
During the early morning hours of Thursday, November 13, 2014 Public Safety was dispatched to North Hall following the report of a prowler. Residents of the hall reported to their CA that they had observed an unknown male adult staring at the windows. Student witnesses described the subject as an Adult, Caucasian, 30's, bald head, medium height, heavy build, wearing a white T-shirt or jacket, grey cargo shorts. The subject did not actually get close enough to look into the windows but the witnesses felt this was the subject's intent based upon his behavior. Public Safety officers conducted a thorough search to locate the subject, as well as additional witnesses who could provide information to help identify the subject. Redlands Police was notified and alerted to the subject's presence in the immediate neighborhood and took an incident report.
Public Safety has recently had numerous hall safety meetings regarding safety and asking residents to assist in being alert and reporting suspicious activity. The residents of North Hall are commended for their quick action in reporting their observations and providing a good physical description for the responding officers.
As a Reminder:
• Make sure exterior doors to residential halls are not left propped open.
• Secure ground floor windows.
• Never hesitate to report suspicious activity to Public Safety.
• Do not confront potentially dangerous persons.
• Be observant, be a good witness.
• Call 911 for police response if the situation is an emergency.
