Subject: Update to Christopher Dorner Manhunt

As an update to the previous communication surrounding the manhunt for Christopher Dorner, who is wanted for investigation of multiple shootings in the southern California region, the Department of Public Safety has continued to actively monitor the situation. Earlier this afternoon, Mr. Dorner reportedly barricaded himself in a cabin in the Angelus Oaks area west of Big Bear, approximately 28 miles from our campus in Redlands.

All roads leading to the local mountain resorts are currently closed by law enforcement roadblocks. Please do not attempt to access the mountain communities around the Big Bear area until this situation resolves.

As previously stated, there remains no threat to our campus or to our students, faculty, staff or administrators.

As with any other safety issue, we will immediately provide notification to our entire campus community in the event there is any elevated concern for safety.

As previously stated, I would like to remind everyone to remain vigilant in regard to ensuring your personal safety and those within our community at all times. If you see or hear something that gives you cause for concern in any way, please notify Public Safety at extension 8888, or call 911 immediately. Your safety on and around our campus remains our highest priority here at the University of Redlands.
