English Language Proficiency

Japanese friends

International applicants must provide evidence of English language proficiency through a proficiency exam or a previous degree taught in English.

The following minimun scores are needed:

Univ. of Cambridge ESOL     Certificate in Advanced English
International Baccalaureate     Higher Level 4

International students applying to the College of Arts and Sciences, and for whom English is a first language (including citizens of Great Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Scotland, India, and Philippines) are waived from English language proficiency requirements.

American citizens, or students holding US Permanent Resident visas are waived from English language proficiency requirements in the School of Business and School of Education.
