Prospective Students

Jorge Cecilio, School of Education

male student

When I decided to change careers, I took a few days off to check out local programs in the Riverside, San Bernardino and Redlands areas. My wife had graduated from Redlands and since I heard good things from her, I decided to come here first. Initially, I came in just looking for information. I wanted to find out what programs University of Redlands offered. I ended up earning my single subject credential in math.

The people I talked to made me feel at home. The classes changed the way I see myself and the world around me. The teachers empowered me to shape my own future as an educator. My cohort became an extended family (I miss our discussions inside and outside the classroom). My overall Redlands experience has been intellectually liberating; I was never just a spectator. When the time came to decide where to go for my master's in education, I did not consider any other options. I have advised friends to choose Redlands and I would confidently recommend this University to anyone else. If you love to teach, feel the weight of personal responsibility, and want to be a leader in education, this University is for you.
