Prospective Students

Amy Cecilio, School of Education

female student

I initially decided to go to Redlands because of its reputation and convenient location. A few of my friends received their undergraduate degrees from the U of R and spoke fondly of their time here. Personally, I enjoyed my experience in the credential program and felt that, thanks to my teachers and advisors, I was well prepared upon entering the classroom. When my husband Jorge decided to pursue his teaching credential, I immediately recommended U of R. We looked at offerings at nearby universities but none of them could provide the support, curriculum and flexibility that we needed. Jorge’s experience inspired me and our discussions reinvigorated my enthusiasm for teaching and learning. Once I finally decided to begin my master’s degree in education, there was no doubt as to where I would go. Both Jorge and I are pleased with our selection and we will continue to recommend the University of Redlands to friends and colleagues who want to better themselves as educators.
