Baritone Paul Sahuc has earned a reputation for his compelling performances in opera, oratorio, song recitals and musical theatre. Recent operatic credits include Peter in Hansel and Gretel, Marcello in La Boheme, Figaro in The Barber of Seville and Baron Scarpia in Tosca. Versatility as a singing actor has led him to numerous leading roles in musicals. Among his recent solo oratorio repertoire are Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, Ralph Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on Christmas Carols, and Ein Deutsches Requiem of Johannes Brahms. He has been a guest of several premiere musical organizations including The Michigan Opera Theatre, The Louisiana Philharmonic and The Minnesota Opera. Paul's discography includes Solitare with The Royal Swedish Opera and Der Rosenkavalier with The Minnesota Opera. He has premiered several compositions and song cycles including Four Quotations with the Bowling Green String Quartet. Paul has served on the music staff and faculties of several professional arts organizations, universities and summer festivals. His vocal students comprise some of America's finest emerging talent, and are frequently engaged by The Metropolitan Opera, Seattle Opera, The Los Angeles Opera, The Minnesota Opera and Opera Pacific, among others. Paul has designed and presented educational outreach programs focused on youth audiences for opera companies, symphony orchestras and universities. Presently, Paul is an Artist Teacher of Voice at the University of Redlands, Coordinator of Vocal Arts at Idyllwild Arts Academy as well as maintaining a private voice studio. He is also a frequent guest lecturer for universities and professional arts organizations.
