Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Program

Automated External Defibrillators or AEDs are small, lightweight devices that look at a person's heart rhythm (through special pads placed on the torso) and can recognize "sudden cardiac arrest." All Public Safety Officers are trained and certified in the use of AEDs, which are carried in each of the Public Safety patrol vehicles.

AEDs are also located in the following locations on campus:

  • Administration Building (2nd floor - lobby)
  • Alumni House (1st floor - south entrance foyer)
  • Armacost Library (2nd floor - west side of circulation desk)
  • Casa Loma Room (southeast corner of conference room)
  • Currier Gym (1st floor - southeast corner of main gym)
  • Facilities Management (in hallway outside rm. 111)
  • Field House (in office 105 when not taken to practice or athletic event)
  • Fitness Center - Athletic Training Rm. (stored in rm. 117 when not taken to an event site)
  • Fitness Center - Exercise Area (on west wall)
  • Hedco Hall (1st floor - hallway near stairs)
  • Hentschke Hall (2nd floor - southwest corner of main lobby)
  • Hunsaker University Center (1st floor - entry lobby near stairs)
  • Memorial Chapel (1st floor - west end of lobby)
  • Orton Center (main corridor outside of Palm Room)
  • Student Health Center (in hallway outside rm. 108)
  • Theatre Arts Building (1st floor - in Theatre Arts Dept. office when not taken to performance at Wallichs or Frederick Loewe Theatre)
  • Thompson Aquatic Center (Lifeguard Office rm. 128)
  • Truesdail Speech Center (in hallway near lobby)
  • Willis Center (Public Safety rm. 158 near dispatch)
