Public Safety Advisory - Jan 21, 2013

To:   University Community
From:  Jeff Talbott, Director of Public Safety
Date:   January 21, 2013
Subject:   Recent Automobile Break-Ins

During the early morning hours of Monday, January 21, 2013, several parked vehicles in University parking lots adjacent to North Hall and the Armacost Library, were forcibly or unlawfully entered and had personal items removed by unknown individuals.  Located in this same vicinity was an unoccupied abandoned stolen vehicle that had been taken from the city of Redlands.

As a reminder, the University Community is urged to take precautions and to enhance the security of their parked vehicles.

  • Lock the doors of your vehicle when leaving it unattended.
  • Refrain from leaving any items of value in plain sight within your vehicle.
  • Park in well lighted areas to the best extent possible.
  • Immediately report any suspicious persons or activities to Public Safety.

Our highest priority remains the safety and security of our campus community members. If you have any questions or information, please contact Public Safety at (909) 748-8888 or ext. 8888 from any campus phone.

There are more than 1,700 trees on the University of Redlands campus.

In April 2010, it was designated a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation. Redlands is among just three other colleges or universities in California to receive this designation.
