DESCRIPTION:  The Department of Business Administration and Accounting, in the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Director of the Accounting Program to lead the highly regarded, fast-growing accounting program. The position can be structured as a tenure-track position or a three-year renewable term faculty position. The accounting major focuses on developing technical, communication and decision-making skills necessary for a graduate to excel in the accounting profession and attain professional licensure.  The program is also an integral part of the business and financial economics majors.

The University of Redlands is a private, comprehensive liberal arts and sciences institution with approximately 2,500 undergraduate students in the residential College of Arts and Sciences. It is located sixty miles east of downtown Los Angeles, in a town of 70,000 at the base of the San Bernardino mountains, one hour from ski resorts, one hour from the coast and 45 minutes from Palm Springs. Commuter rail into downtown Los Angeles and coastal areas is available nearby.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A candidate for a tenure-track position should have a doctoral degree in a relevant field, a record of research, and experience in teaching, student mentorship, and leadership of some aspects of an accounting program. A candidate for a renewable term faculty position should have a masters or doctoral degree, plus significant experience in a leadership role in the accounting profession, as well as experience in teaching and mentorship of students or young professionals. CPA preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability, and be expected, to develop significant external connections for our students, affording opportunities for internships, guest speakers, and employment.  Teaching duties include five class sections each year.
