The University of Redlands School of Business invites applicants for a tenure-track position in Economics, preferably Environmental Economics.  Sustainability is a strategic initiative for the School as well as the University and therefore a well-documented interest and/or background in any combination of the following is desirable: environment and development (sustainable development), international trade / geographical economics and the environment, agriculture and the environment, integration of ecosystems and economic models, or global public goods.

The University of Redlands is recognized as a premiere regional liberal education institution, situated on a picturesque campus in the city of Redlands, within one hour of Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Joshua Tree NP and Lake Arrowhead. The School offers innovative undergraduate and graduate degree programs at locations throughout Southern California.
 
This position will have significant responsibility for teaching and managing Economics courses at both the graduate and undergraduate level. At the time of appointment, each applicant should have a completed or near completed doctorate (ABD) in Economics or closely related field.  All applicants should have a record of achievement in their functional area and a vibrant interest in teaching adult learners, and business education within the context of traditional liberal arts and sciences disciplines.  The School of Business houses two research centers dedicated to understanding spatial aspects of business and economics: The Center for Business GIS and Spatial Analysis (http://www.redlands.edu/businessGIS) and the Institute for Spatial Economic Analysis (http://isea.redlands.edu/). The School of Business encourages contributions to its research centers. It values and rewards applied as well as cross-disciplinary research.  Practitioner experience in business-related activities is highly desirable.
