DESCRIPTION:  This position is part of a team of programmers/analysts who are responsible to support the Ellucian Colleague Systems, and other related applications.  Participates in projects that support university wide administrative applications, Colleague, in collaboration with university personnel.  This position will work with end users to trouble-shoot and to develop custom programs to enhance the Colleague.  Analyzes functional processes, designs solutions and implements critical information systems.  Develops, writes, tests, implements and maintains application programs.  Analyzes requests for feasibility and proposes alternatives for meeting needs.  Plans, develops, and implements desired alternatives to meet needs.

Duties and responsibilities include but, are not limited to:

  • Provides support for Ellucian Colleague, SQL Stored Procedures, Data Interfaces and other related applications.      
  • Trouble-shoots and develops custom programs to enhance Colleague and other related applications.
  • Develops, programs, implements and maintains application programs.
  • Generates reports from Colleague and Business Objects and other various tools.
  • Consults with functional users.
  • Analyzes request for feasibility and proposes alternative for meeting users’ needs.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned or directed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Services or equivalent combination of education and experience. Plus five (5) to eight (8) years of programming experience, including 3 years of technical experience with applications of administrative systems in higher education including but not limited to: Ellucian Banner, Ellucian Colleague PeopleSoft.  Experience with Ellucian Colleague is preferred but not required. The successful candidate will have experience in systems analysis, specification and design, (Preferred Datatel Systems release 17 or above); programming experience; 4GL report writing tools, UniBasic programming language experience and UNIX environment (Sun Solaris Unix preferred); Microsoft Windows Operating System and Microsoft Professional Applications. Must be able to competently interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students, faculty and staff.
