DESCRIPTION: The University of Redlands’ School of Education seeks applicants for a renewable (depending upon funding) one (1) year visiting assistant professor. The visitor will teach eight course equivalents with a primary focus in school and college counseling.

 
Successful candidates will have:

  • An earned Master’s degree in counseling or related field with an emphasis in school and college counseling.
  • Demonstrated record of effective teaching 
  • State of California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential

Additional qualifications include:

  • Extensive training in working with diverse students;
  •  Commitment to and experience in counseling K-16 students;
  • Willingness to initiate efforts that result in program improvements that attract new students;
  • Disposition for leadership and collaboration in working with faculty, students, and community personnel across program areas, departments and campuses

It would be particularly beneficial if background also included:

  • Doctorate degree in counseling
  • Skill in coordinating students in their counseling fieldwork requirements
  • Involvement with continuing accreditation activities (California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
