Educational Justice Award

University of Redlands Outstanding Educational Justice Practitioner Award

The University of Redlands’ Center for Educational Justice and Ed.D. program both are committed to advancing practitioner attitudes and skills necessary to promote educational justice.

We are pleased, therefore, to announce the Outstanding Educational Justice Practitioner Award, to be given a California educational practitioner who has demonstrated both strong advocacy for and effective, sustained progress toward greater equity in a K-12 educational setting.

The award will be given at the annual Educational Justice Institute (next scheduled: July 12, 2011), a conference that brings together local stakeholders and education scholars. A condition of the award is that the winner will appear in person at the Institute to receive the award and its accompanying $1,000 honorarium.

To be considered, a person must have two letters of nomination from sponsoring individuals. The letters of nomination should specify:

  • What specific initiatives the nominee has taken
  • What effects these initiatives have had
  • Why this person deserves to receive the award.

Nominations are due May 30.

Submit nominations to:  Outstanding Educational Justice Practitioner Award Selection Committee, c/o Claudia Robinson, School of Education, University of Redlands, 1200 East Colton Avenue, P.O. Box 3080, Redlands, CA 92373-0999
