Regional center gets new digs

Temecula - Nov. 9

The University of Redlands School of Business celebrated the grand opening of its new Temecula campus this week. Scores of guests enjoyed tours of the state-of-the-art classrooms and beautiful views of the surrounding hills from the fourth floor of the new site located at 27720 Jefferson Avenue.

President Jim Appleton spoke about the University’s role in pioneering adult education in the western U.S. and its commitment to meeting the unique learning needs of working adults for more than 35 years.

“We are the university that teaches critical thinking and how to use that thinking to solve the problems in our business, society and world,” Dr. Appleton said. Dr. Keith Roberts, associate dean of the School of Business, also addressed the crowd, along with Aaron Adams, Temecula’s assistant city manager and an alumni of the School of Business.

Located on Jefferson Avenue and Via Montezuma, the new campus takes up the entire fourth floor of the Jefferson Plaza. The new location provides proximity to local dining and other amenities preferred by working adults, along with easy access to Interstate 15 from Rancho California Road, according to Miguel Aranda, Campus Director of the Temecula site.

The open house featured refreshments, socializing and Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting. The University has been serving the Temecula Valley since 1984, offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business and management.

Riverside community members and leaders gathered with University and School of Business leaders to celebrate the newly renovated Riverside campus.

The updated and remodeled facility, located off Central Avenue near the Riverside Plaza, was shown off during a Wednesday night event. Welcomed in a refreshed lobby, visitors then toured the spacious conference rooms and upgraded class rooms that serve working adults earning a variety of business degrees offered at the School.

The Sustainable University of Redlands Farm (SURF) is a natural farm in its beginning stages, but already grows and sells fresh vegetables to Bon Appetit, the food management company on campus.
