Welcome picnic at Quad: a recipe for “community!”

Welcome picnic at Quad: a recipe for “community!” Take hundreds of students, add an equal or slightly smaller number of professors, and sprinkle with University staff members throughout and you’ve cooked up a fun and tasty introduction to the school year at Redlands.

Students, faculty and staff dine, join together to kick off the academic year.

Hundreds of members of the University of Redlands community met at the Quad on Tuesday afternoon, enjoying a splendid array of food choices provided by Bon Appetit accompanied by social time under cool, gray skies. In addition, student leaders presented numerous club, recreation and service opportunities for students to become involved in.

The event, sponsored as a free “welcome picnic” outdoors at the center of the 160-acre campus, is a longstanding tradition welcoming the intellectually curious and intensely involved students of diverse backgrounds that are the hallmark of the University’s culture.

The University has five Centers of Distinction.
