Alumnus Named Hometown Hero

Alumnus Bob Erikson

Alumnus Robert “Bob” Erikson ‘60 will be recognized by the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital Foundation with the foundation’s 2009 Hometown Hero Award. Erikson will be honored for his work with the hospital, specifically for his work with the Children’s Hospital and its doctors.

Erikson is a retired educator and long time member of Kiwanis International. He is currently the chairman of the Kiwanis Pediatric Emergency Medical Fellowship. The Fellowship trains doctors who specialize in the care of acutely sick or injured children at the Children’s Hospital.

Erikson, along with other members of the Inland Empire community who have contributed to the cause of children’s health, will be honored at the 17th annual gala of the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital Foundation on Saturday, March 27.

The foundation gala dubbed: “Got Heart!” will mark the hospital’s 25th year of performing infant heart transplants. This event is a major fundraiser for the non-profit children’s hospital. The foundation’s awards recognize those in the community who have dedicated time and service to children
