Tour de Redlands

This summer 17 high school counselors from 11 states will cycle through Southern California. Their quest -- researching colleges and universities hoping to help their students make the perfect college connection. The two-week journey began on Fourth of July at the University of Redlands and continues to UCLA, Whittier and San Diego.

The treks, launched several years ago, were the brain child of a counselor at Episcopal High School in Jacksonville, Fla., who wanted to combine his love of cycling with his desire to tour colleges over the summer. Past treks included colleges in the northeast, mid-Atlantic and mid-west.

Whether you’re a cycling enthusiast, a parent of a high school student or a future college student who wants to learn more about the colleges visited on the ride, follow the New York Times blog.
