High-Profile Lawyer David Boies to Speak

The University of Redlands will host one of the most prominent members of its alumni, David Boies II, on Nov. 11 as a keynote speaker for the Convocations and Lectures Speaker Series. He will speak at 7:30 p.m. in the university’s Orton Center.

Boies, partner of the accomplished law firm Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP, is perhaps best known for playing a critical role in court cases including Bush v. Gore, where Boies represented former Vice President Al Gore, and the United States v. Microsoft in which he represented the United States. Another of his notable cases was New York Yankees v. Major League Baseball, and among his many clients, Boies has also represented Calvin Klein, Napster, and CBS and Michael Moore.

Boies, who is the subject of the book “v. Goliath: The Trials of David Boies” by Karen Donovan, will be speaking about his experiences and touching on his time at the University of Redlands. The event will be followed by a book signing of his autobiography, “Courting Justice.”

The event is free and open to the community.
