University of Redlands to host Award-winning poet Andrea Gibson

Gibson is the winner of the first Women’s World Poetry Slam

REDLANDS, Mar. 5, 2014– The University of Redlands Office of Campus Diversity and Inclusion will host a guest lecture by award-winning poet and activist Andrea Gibson on March 26, 2014 from 7-9 p.m. at the University of Redlands Orton Center.

Gibson’s self-described raw fearlessness has catapulted her to the forefront of the spoken word movement and is the winner of the first Women’s World Poetry Slam. Gibson’s readings center on the issues of war, class, gender, bullying, white privilege, sexuality and spirituality. Gibson’s work has been featured on the BBC, Air America, C-SPAN, Free Speech TV.
