Inland Empire Women Veterans to be recognized at luncheon

University of Redlands to host the event on March 8

REDLANDS, Feb. 17, 2014 – March is National Women’s History Month and to celebrate women veterans in particular the Inland Empire Veterans Collaborative will host a luncheon to recognize these outstanding women from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m March 8, 2014 at the University of Redlands’ Orton Center. The Collaborative includes organizations such the University of Redlands, Cal Vet, San Bernardino County of Veterans Affairs, VA Loma Linda Healthcare System, and the San Bernardino Vet Center, among others. Women veterans and their families are encouraged to attend the event which is free and open to the public.

The University of Redlands has a rich tradition of supporting military and veteran students and their families. It is a history that goes back to the University’s early days and World War I.

Confirmed speakers for the event include:

  • Eldonna Lewis Fernandez, CEO of Dynamic Vision and MSgt USAF, Retired
  • Elizabeth Perez-Halperin, Founder and CEO of GC Green & Navy Veteran
  • Mickiela Montoya, US Dept. of Veterans Affairs and Combat Veteran (seen on Oprah)
  • Paul Foster, Mayor Pro-Tem, City of Redlands

WHEN: 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 8, 2014 
Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. for registration and the event will begin at 11:15 a.m.
