University of Redlands Professor of Art to Showcase Personal Art Pieces

“Everyday Mystery” exhibit will be open to the public from Feb. 18 and March 22

REDLANDS, Feb. 7, 2014– University of Redlands Professor of Art, Penny McElroy, will present “Everyday Mystery”, a collection of art pieces she has created in the past year. The exhibit will take place from Feb. 18 through March 22 at the Ann Peppers Art Gallery. There will be an opening reception in the Ann Peppers Art Gallery on Feb. 19, 2014 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

“The exhibit highlights my ongoing engagement in the relationship of sense and nonsense,” McElroy said. “From my perspective there is art and truth in the intersection of these two seemingly diametrically opposed concepts. I explore images that could never be, but point to the ordinary.”

“There is something for everyone to relate to in the work and what viewers will find there might surprise them,” she said. “I think that when art does that, it is profoundly entertaining,” said McElroy.
