A Christmas Memory

The final Redlands Forum event for 2013 is the holiday program “A Christmas Memory,” performed by Chris Beach and Sally Norton.

This special production, which will include a live band, is set for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19.

“This is a reader’s theater presentation of the Truman Capote story of his childhood and his relationship with his elderly aunt,” Shelli Stockton, Redlands Forum co-manager, said.

“A Christmas Memory” is set in rural Alabama during the Great Depression, and recounts the friendship Capote had with Miss Sook Faulk. Together, the pair would bake fruitcakes and send them to people they knew around the world.

“This is not to be missed,” Stockton said.

The Redlands Forum is looking ahead to 2014, and will feature favorites from the past and new events.

“We’ve got great plans for the new year,” Stockton said. “We’ll have the return of Lee Stetson as John Muir, the Environmental Film Festival, an all-new Lincoln program, and much more.”
