Collect a Million Recycling Pull Tab Event

The University of Redlands Greek Community will host a Collect-a-Million pull tab recycling event from 8 5 p.m. May 3 in the parking lot of Ted Runner Stadium. The event will benefit the Ronald McDonald House in Loma Linda. People can donate any recyclable items in addition to pull tabs.

The Greek Community will provide volunteers for the day to run the event. Ramsey Recycling will take the recyclable items collected and the money raised will go directly to the charity.

The Ronald McDonald House allows families with very ill children to receive a “home away from home” while their child receives health care.

“This is one of the most popular fundraisers we have,” said Danielle Walters, event manager for Ronald McDonald House. “The community has gotten really involved in the big collection day.”

Walters said there are elementary school busses that carry kids with bags full of tabs to donate for the day.

Those who cannot attend the event can donate pull tabs year round at the Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House. Monetary donations are also accepted.
