This winter, the students in the Two-Dimensional Design class at the University of Redlands participated in a contest to submit a logo design for the Conservancy's Inner City Goes Outdoors education program for kids.

The University of Redlands will host a book reception detailing 16 U of R students' spiritual journey in India with one of Tibetan Buddhism's most inspiring leaders, His Holiness the 17th Karmapa. The event will be held Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Casa Loma Room on campus.

The 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Orgyen Trinley Dorje's book "The Heart is Noble: Changing the World Inside Out" captures his teachings to the students in May 2011. The book was co- edited by religious studies professor Karen Derris who took the trip with the students.
