REDLANDS, CA (Sept. 19, 2012) – The Center for Business GIS and Spatial Analysis (GISAB) at the University of Redlands School of Business presents Dr. David Schrader as its first speaker on October 3. He will address the topic of GIS and Big Data – Theory and Best Practice Case Studies.
Schrader is responsible for the Active Intelligence Initiative at Teradata Corp., which is intended to help Teradata customers and prospects derive more value from their enterprise data warehouses by writing new applications and portlets using traditional and big data to create insights for front-line employees and systems. Schrader is also involved in a series of BSI (business scenario investigations) videos on YouTube which give CSI-like examples of how big data forensic insights can drive better corporate actions and reactions.
Topics in Schrader’s discussion will include Active Customer Management, or driving people into stores, given mobile location information, and Active Operations Management, the process of using mobile and geospatial information to optimize inventories, improve process instrumentation and asset utilization, among other topics.
