University of Redlands to hold its 103rd commencement ceremonies

Congressman Jerry Lewis will receive an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters

May 10, 2012—The University of Redlands will host commencement ceremonies for the graduating class of 2012 on May 24 and 26 in the outdoor Greek Amphitheater at its main campus in Redlands. Eligible students from all University of Redlands locations in southern California will participate in commencement.

All those attending are advised to wear comfortable clothes and close-toed shoes as the Greek Amphitheatre is not shaded and has steep stair casing with limited handrails. There is a reserved section for handicapped seating.

  • School of Education: 6 p.m. Thursday, May 24.
    —Commencement Speaker: Rick A. Piercy II, President and CEO of the Lewis Center for Educational Research 
    —Alumni Educator or the Year: Jerry Almendarez, Class of 1997, Class of 2000
  • College of Arts and Sciences: 9 a.m. Saturday, May 26 
    —Commencement Speaker: Rob Harris, Founder, President and CEO of Pacific Marketing International 
    —Honorary Degree Recipient: Rep. Jerry Lewis, Congressman – Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters
  • School of Business: Saturday, 4:30 p.m. May 26 
    —Commencement Speaker: Kirk L. Wright, Class of 1976
