Bulldogs in Service was established in 2007 by the Alumni Board of Directors in response to the spirit of volunteerism brought on by Hurricane Katrina. The day of service gives all alumni the chance to connect and reconnect with other Bulldogs while making an impact in their local communities.

In 2011, Bulldogs in Service featured 26 projects and almost 500 volunteers. For the local nonprofit organization Hands of Mercy, volunteers raised over $2,000 for materials and built a 12x12 loft home that was delivered to a family in Mexico.

"It's a phenomenal opportunity to come serve your community and show your Bulldog pride all in one day," said Amber Brown, assistant director of Alumni Relations.
