Professor Johannes Moenius to speak at the IEEP 2012 State of the Region Economic Conference

March 30, 2012—Johannes Moenius, associate professor of the School of Business and the William R. and Sue Johnson Endowed Chair of Spatial Economic Analysis and Regional Planning at the University of Redlands will be one of the speakers at the Inland Empire Economic Partnership (IEEP) 2012 State of the Region on Friday, April 6. Moenius will give the national economic forecast at the conference. Moenius is also the founding director of the Institute of Spatial Economic Analysis (ISEA) which provides science and research-based spatial analysis and forecasts of economic phenomena.

The Inland Empire Economic Partnership is a nonprofit organization that works to inform the San Bernardino and Riverside counties of their economic status and aims to provide avenues in which to ensure all citizens of these counties a good quality of life. The conference will feature keynote speaker Dr. John Husing who has delivered the region’s economic forecast for the past 14 years. University of Redlands’ Moenius is one of six economists and businessmen who will discuss economic outlook for their sectors at the IEEP 2012 State of the Region Conference.

In April 2010, it was designated a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation. Redlands is among just three other colleges or universities in California to receive this designation.
