Women's and Gender Studies Conference

March 21, 2012—On Thursday, March 29 to Friday, March 30 the University of Redlands’ Women and Gender Studies program (WGST) will hold its 4th annual Women’s Studies Student Conference. The primary focus of the conference is to provide an opportunity for Women and Gender Studies students to present their work. The presentations will feature papers written for WGST courses as well as papers specifically written for the conference.

The Conference will feature Thursday night’s keynote speaker, Kalil Cohen. Cohen is a performer, speaker and filmmaker who focuses on gender with a specific emphasis towards race and class. Cohen is the founding director of the TG Film Fest: The Los Angeles Transgender Film Festival. He is also an assistant programmer for Outfest: the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. The presentations will take place throughout the day on Friday up until 5 p.m. This two day event is FREE and open to all students, faculty and the Redlands community.
