Director of Financial Aid

Linda Hulsey-Magness joined the University in November 2011 as the director of financial aid.

Linda got her start in financial aid as a student worker at California State University, Los Angeles while completing her undergraduate studies.

"I find helping students obtain the financial resources they need to pursue their education to be one of the most rewarding parts of my work," she said.

When it came time for Linda to seek a position in the Inland Empire, she did her homework.

"It became clear to me that University of Redlands was the preeminent private university in the area. So, I quickly decided that U of R was where I wanted to be."

Before coming to Redlands, Linda served as the associate director of financial assistance at Pepperdine University’s Seaver College.

First employed as a financial aid counselor at Pepperdine in 2006, she was promoted to financial aid advisor and assistant director before her most recent promotion to associate director of financial assistance in 2009.

Under Linda’s leadership, Pepperdine was able to streamline their financial aid awarding process, and implement the auto-packaging process.

Linda received her bachelor's degree in criminal justice and sociology at California State University, Los Angeles in 2006.

She has a "wonderful husband and six beautiful children."

University of Redlands students contribute more than 100,000 hours of community service annually.
