Theatre Arts Premiere

Pe'er Gynt

The University of Redlands will feature the world premiere of "Pe'er Gynt: An American Odyssey" from Nov. 10 to 19 in the Frederick Loewe Theatre.

Written by Theatre Arts Professor Steve Shade, the performance is a re-imagining of Henrik Ibsen’s 19th century that explores the changing identity of America over the past 50 years within the landscape of rock music and some of the significant events and figures in American history. Pe’er is the archetypal “bad boy,” an Elvis Presley wannabe in search of himself who meets up with the likes of Charlie Manson and the Family, Donald and Ivana Trump, “The Queen of Mean,” Leona Helmsley and other iconic figures of the last five decades of American history.

Performance Times: 8 p.m. Nov. 10, 11, 12, 18 and 19, and 2 p.m. Nov. 13
