Football Welcomes Veterans

The University of Redlands and Bulldog Athletics invite all local veterans, police officers and firefighters to attend Saturday's Bulldog Football game free of charge. The Bulldogs will play the Whittier Poets at Ted Runner Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 5. Kick-off will be at 7 p.m.

The 2011 Volunteer Pep Band will perform music throughout the game, and the cheer team will provide halftime entertainment.

Redlands (6-1, 4-1 SCIAC) currently sits in second place among the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) standings. Last week, the Maroon and Gray prevailed over the University of La Verne by a score of 38-28 during last Saturday's Homecoming celebration.

The Bulldogs wrap up their regular season on Nov. 12 when they head to Orange County for a non-conference game against Chapman University.

Regular admission to the game is $7 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and non-University students, and free to children ages 12 and under. All University of Redlands employees and students are admitted free with school identification.

Thurber, an English bulldog, is the University's mascot.
