Green Week

Students for Environmental Action promote living "green" during Green Week. Activities on campus for students include:

Monday, Sept. 26

Monty Hempel will give a tour of the eco-friendly features of Lewis Hall at 5 p.m. followed by a pizza dinner.
Claude Dorais will speak about his non-profit organization Unite to Light, which aims to provide Ugandan families with solar lamps.

Tuesday, Sept. 27

On "Trayless Tuesday" the community is encouraged to avoid the use of trays in the Commons and to waste less food, water, and electricity.
SEA members will collect the University's discarded food to demonstrate the truth about how much is wasted on campus.

Wednesday, Sept. 28

At 4 p.m. on "Wasteless Wednesday" students can learn gardening tips from those who tend their own plots at the Campus Community Garden behind the Brockton Apartments, and SEA members will again collect waste during dinner at the Commons.

Thursday, Sept. 29

At 4:30 to 6 p.m. on the west lawn of Lewis students can participate in arts and crafts, making hair wraps, hemp bracelets, and stenciled or tie-dyed shirts.
The Redlands Forum presents Ralph Nader, consumer advocate and former presidential candidate, who will present "Building Community: For Democracy, Well-Being and Happiness" at 7 p.m. in the Chapel. Register to attend.
Showing of the film "Princess Mononoke" at 8:30 p.m. on the lawn between Armacost Library and the Lewis Center.

Friday, Sept. 30

SEA's Green-a-Palooza party—9 p.m. to midnight in the Brown Amphitheater outside Lewis Center.
