Cory Nomura has served the University as the vice president for finance and administration since July 2013. He has been with the University since June 1991.
As the vice president for finance and administration, Nomura's primary responsibilities are to provide fiscal management oversight and participate in the development of strategic planning initiatives for the University. He serves on several University planning committees and is the University's chief financial officer and administrative liaison for the finance, investment, audit and campus planning board of trustee committees.
Since June 1991, Nomura served in multiple key business and finance leadership positions, including: business/financial analyst for the Alfred North Whitehead Center (now known as the School of Business and School of Education), project manager for conversions of the University's administrative software system and Year 2000 (Y2K), director of administrative services, interim budget officer, and chief financial officer.
Prior to joining the University, Nomura was a senior financial analyst and examiner for the United States Department of the Treasury and financial institution internal auditor. He earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from California State University, Long Beach and a master of business administration degree from the University of Redlands.
The vice president for finance and administration reports to the President and serves on the President's Cabinet. This office is responsible for developing strategic, multi-year financial plans, ensuring operational policies across the University are implemented and appropriate enterprise risk management controls are identified and maintained. Key areas of responsibility for this office include: accounting, administrative services, budgeting, dining services, facilities management, human resources, insurance, legal, public safety, real estate and risk management.
