Meet Adelaide, our Mascot-in-Training."Addie" has been adopted and we are pleased to announce that for the first time in our history, it’s a girl!  She was named for the founding first lady of the University and wife to the first President, Jasper Newton Field

She will be in training with Thurber throughout the 2017-18 academic year, then Thurber will become our Mascot Emeritus. He and his handler, Professor Beth Doolittle, will continue to make appearances at campus events.

Our Mascot-in-Training, whose handler is Mary Littlejohn '03, '12, Assistant Director of Alumni and Community Relations, has selected the encouragement of more rescue animal adoptions, especially of bulldogs as her platform.
