Senior Art Show 2014

This project by Kate Wright '14 is part of the Senior Art Show.

University of Redlands art students present the senior art exhibit, “Sleepless in the Studio” through April 24 in the Peppers Art Gallery.  The exhibition, which includes paintings, photography, and graphic design,  showcases the hard work and capstone projects of this year’s graduating class.

"This is always the biggest and more exciting show of the year." Tommi Cahill, assistant professor of art and senior projects, said. "It really contextualizes the journey they have taken in the major."

The students name the show, design the post cards and banners, and install and light the work they have made throughout the semester.

"I feel like my experience with the art department has really prepared me to become a designer in the real world,” Kate Wright ’14, a graphic design student, said. Her project is the design for a tea company called QualiTea, featuring a tea series entitled "Be You Tea," which evokes the idea of being who you want to be with the tea you drink.

"I created the brand identity, logos, product design, and advertisements, and am so excited it is finally in the gallery,” she said.

The Peppers Art Gallery is open to the public Tuesday to Friday 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. A closing reception will be held on Thursday, April 24 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
