This event is free and open to the public

REDLANDS, Nov. 6, 2013– The University of Redlands office of Campus Diversity and Inclusion will host author and expert in conflict and humanitarian crisis, Dr. Mukesh Kapila from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 at Orton Center on the University of Redlands campus.

Dr. Mukesh Kapila has worked extensively and advised in crisis and conflict management, humanitarian affairs, post-conflict recovery and development. Kapila is Professor of Global Health and Humanitarian Affairs at the University of Manchester. He is also special representative for the Aegis Trust for the prevention of crimes against humanity.

Kapila is the author of "Against A Tide of Evil" where he reveals for the first time the shocking depths of evil understood by those who designed and orchestrated 'the final solution in Darfur' and why so many good people stood by and did nothing. "Against a Tide of Evil" is the deeply personal account of one man driven to extreme action by the unwillingness of those in power to stop mass murder. The book explores what empowers a man like Dr. Kapila to stand up and to act in the face of global indifference and venality.
