Rah Rah Redlands 2013

Rah Rah Redlands

You are invited to kick off Bulldog Football’s home season at the biggest yet Rah Rah Redlands event Sept. 7, 2013 at Ted Runner Stadium.

The University of Redlands Town & Gown and Bulldog Athletics are hosting the annual tailgate party with the new offering of open swim at the Thompson Aquatic Center from 3 to 5 p.m., followed by food trucks, a kid zone, music and more beginning at 4:30 p.m. Bulldog Football begins at 7 p.m.

Mascot bulldog Thurber will help Bulldog Football players and cheerleaders ramp up the energy pre-game, led by event emcee Ray Watts, associate vice president for Development.

“This event was started to support Bulldog Football and welcome families and members of the community to the University,” said Shelli Stockton, Town & Gown president. “It has continued to grow, and this year we are excited to add the swim and other kids’ activities.”

Also new this year is the event location, now on the west end of Ted Runner Stadium.

Food trucks scheduled include some old and new favorites: Cousins Maine Lobster, WTF Pizza, Wild & Twisted, Me So Hungry, Krave Fusion and Kona Ice. Vendors include locals Augie’s Coffee House, A La Minute Creamery and Hangar 24 Craft Brewery

Tickets will be sold at the event, beginning at 2:45 p.m. at the Frank Serrao Gateway. Cost is $10 for adults, which includes the event and the game. University of Redlands students and children ages 12 and under enter free. A family pass for 4 or more is available for $35. Cost is $5 for Bulldog Football season pass holders and Bulldog Football parents with identification. Food and drinks from trucks cost separate from admission to event.

“Town & Gown celebrates 30 years in 2013, and we are excited to start our celebration with this event,” Stockton said. “This will be a year filled with opportunity to be involved at the University, and we hope the community will come to campus and be part of it.”
