The Redlands Symphony invites the public to its Family Concert and Instrument Petting Zoo at 2 p.m. May 19 in Memorial Chapel.

Conducted by Maestro Co Nguyen, assistant conductor of the Redlands Symphony, the concert will feature music from Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite and Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf.

After the concert, members of the audience will be invited to interact with the instruments at the Instrument Petting Zoo. Children can handle the instruments and learn more about each one.

“For kids who already play an instrument, this is an opportunity to show off their musical skills,” said Paul Ideker, president and CEO of the Redlands Symphony. “And for kids who are thinking about the possibility of getting more involved in music, this is the kind of experience that can heighten their interest and encourage them to pick up an instrument and give it a try.”

This year’s concert is being held in tribute to Lois Lauer, a Redlands business woman and philanthropist who was a major supporter of the Symphony’s programs for young people.

“Lois had a warm spot in her heart for the children in our community,” Ideker said.

Refreshments will be served and there will be a drawing for a Target gift card. For more information about the event please visit or call the Symphony Office at 909-748-8018.
