Tips for Career Seekers

Anna Runyan speaks

Recent graduates of the Class of 2013 and current students are welcome to take part in an opportunity to learn career advice and success tips from blogger and founder of Anna Runyan.

From 1 to 2:30 p.m. May 18 at Gregory Hall 161, participants can expect to learn how to use networking strategies to find careers, proper business attire and office etiquette. Runyan also has sound advice on career paths since becoming a blogger has completely changed hers.

“A lot of people have so many ideas of jobs they want to do. Pick one career and it doesn’t have to be the end all career for the rest of your life,” Runyan said.

An MBA graduate from the University of California San Diego’s School of Business, she began her blog in March of 2010 in order to share business advice she learned and wished she had learned beforehand. Runyan is not only the founder of, but she is also a part-time career development professor at Devry University, works as a consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton, provides private career coaching and is currently writing a book called, "The Professional Woman’s Guide to Managing Men."

Her mission is to help people “become happy, successful and balanced in (their) work and life while demonstrating class, skill and integrity,” she said.

This event is co-sponsored by ASUR Convocations and Lectures and Career Services. For more information or to R.S.V.P. please email  A lunch from Cuca’s will be provided for those who R.S.V.P. prior to the event.
