Take a Kid to the Game

(Oct. 3, 2011) The University of Redlands invites the local community to attend the Bulldogs' next home football game at 7 p.m., Saturday, October 8, against Pomona-Pitzer Colleges as part of Take a Kid to the Game Night. All kids ages 18 and under, as well as any adult who brings a child to the game, will receive free admission.

A pre-game event, beginning at 6 p.m., will include K-FROG Radio to provide musical entertainment while members of the Redlands fire and police departments will interact with the fans. The Boys' and Girls' Club will be face painting children and a free bounce house will be open for all kids through halftime.

During the game's intermission, all children ages 12 and under will be invited down to the field to participate in fun football activities lincluding catching the pass, kicking the field goal, and tackling the dummies. All participants will receive a free Bulldog prize for experiencing Take a Kid to the Game Night.

Redlands is one of more than 200 schools across the nation that is hosting a game in this campaign focused on allowing youth the opportunity to attend college football games. The Take a Kid to the Game Night program is entering its 17th year in the promotion of collegiate athletics.

For those not participating in Take a Kid to the Game Night, ticket sales begin at 6 p.m. on October 8 at the Frank Serrao Gateway to Ted Runner Stadium. General admission is $7 for adults and $4 for senior citizens (55 and over) and junior high/high school students with identification. All University of Redlands students and employees as well as those from SCIAC schools are free.
