Redlands, CA (September 12, 2011)—A wide-ranging collaboration between the University of Redlands and community organizations is bringing Andrew Breitbart to the University’s Orton Center on Thursday, September 15. The lecture will begin at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The sponsors include Campus Diversity and Inclusion, Chaplain’s Office, Young Republicans, Redlands Tea Party Patriots, Redlands Townhall Patriots and News Talk 590 KTIE.
Breitbart is described on the cover of his recent book, Righteous Indignation, as “part publisher, part agent provocateur, part blogger, but all high-octane, politically incorrect truth-teller and mainstream media destroyer, [who] defies easy categorization”.
Andrew Breitbart is a commentator for the Washington Times, author, an occasional guest commentator on various news programs and has served as an editor for the Drudge Report website. He was a researcher for Arianna Huffington, and helped launch her website, The Huffington Post.
He currently runs his own news aggregation site, Breitbart.com, and five other websites: Breitbart.tv, Big Hollywood, Big Government, Big Journalism, and Big Peace.
“We are pleased to extend our partnerships with community organizations to bring Andrew Breitbart to campus,” says Leela MadhavaRau, Associate Dean at the University of Redlands, “We hope his presence on campus will lead to a spirited and respectful debate about the media, its role in the maintenance of democracy and the meaning of free speech in contemporary America.”
