Department: Economics
The Association for Social Economics honored Rafet Fazeli, associate professor of Economics at the University of Redlands and her coauthor, economist Reza Fazeli for their 2010 paper "The Impact of the Welfare State and Social Policy on the Working Population: The Recent British Experience."
Department: Redlands Institute
The University of Redlands has received a $75,000 grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to develop a Spatial Decision Support system that calculates and maps the potential impacts of energy projects on wildlife.

Assistant Professor Meyertholen has taught at the Redlands since 2009, and has taken a subject area usually overlooked by non-physics majors and turned it into what they described as “their most anticipated class of the week.”

Dr. Lillian Larsen, Dr. Rebecca Lyons, Dr. Sharon Oster, and Dr. Jim Sandos have been selected as the 2012 LENS Fellows. In the coming year, they will work on curricular ideas around the theme of "Mapping Communities."

Dr. Tyler Nordgren was part of the team involved in the design on the sundial instrument aboard the Mars rover “Curiosity,” which took off from Cape Canaveral on Nov. 26, 2011.

Professor Tim Krantz highlights the ecological importance of the Salton Sea Integrated Water Management Project. The Salton Sea Database Program began in 1998 and provides support and outreach to stakeholders engaged in the restoration of California’s largest inland water body.
