DESCRIPTION:   Reporting to the Business/Real Estate Manager in Facilities Management, the Senior Technology Specialist is a key position that provides technical support for all computers and software in the facilities department. Responsible for the operating integrity of The Maintenance Authority (TMA), computerized maintenance management system, tracking real-time status of work orders, projects, and preventative maintenance. Acts as liaison between Facilities Management and Information Technology Services for technology related issues.

•Manages The Maintenance Authority (TMA) database.

•Integrate information from Colleague with Facilities Management database management system to generate decision support reports.

•Develops, implements and maintains internet based software application, including applying the appropriate security settings, creating necessary web pages, and utilizing CAD programs, maintaining all campus floorplans and blueprints.

•Ensures incoming work requests are accurately input and closed out. Oversees all data input and performs random checks of data.

•Develops, maintains, and annually updates a list of deferred facility projects utilizing software.

•Develops and maintains a production database documentation system to include but not limited to: data mappings utilizing GIS, data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, sample reports for the database, and report writing.

•Develops and maintains standards for data collection, database setup, usage, security and dissemination of data.

•Installs, configures, upgrades, and maintains computer systems, peripherals, desktop applications, and networking applications. 

•Develops and maintains the inventory control, budgeting and accounting functions in the database management system, and capital assessment presentations.

•Performs periodical maintenance and regular backups to ensure the integrity and security of the database.

•Creates training materials and provides training for Facilities Management in the usage of the database management system.

•Responsible for the recommendation and implementation of software, hardware and documentation methods.

•Functions in a leadership role in matters relating to technology, data management and systems implementation with Facilities Management.

•Responsible for backup coverage in the warehouse and front office.

•Performs other related duties or special projects as assigned or directed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   Position requires an Associate degree or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of related experience in a similar position is required. Must have considerable knowledge of hardware, software, and networking for PC and Macintosh computers with an emphasis in Windows 10 and Mac OS 10.8x. address minor to complex hardware, software, and peripheral (printers) - related issues. Must be able to troubleshoot and fix minor and complex computer hardware, software, and printer issues. Must possess experience with a broad array of computing platforms and systems within a networked computing environment. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to a non-technical audience; the ability to identify and apply a variety of technical and non-technical rules, regulations and procedures; the ability to work cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, faculty, students and on and off campus support personnel and contacts. A valid drivers’ license is required.
