STARTING SALARY RANGE:   $22.72/hr

DESCRIPTION:   Under general supervision, provides administrative support to the Office of the Registrar. Reporting to the Associate Registrar, serves as the first point of contact for course scheduling at the university. The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Prior Learning Assessment

  • Reviews undergraduate admission files for potential assessed credit.
  • Works with enrolled students in assessing if their professional training can translate into potential credits to apply to their degree.
  • Posts credits to students degree for acceptable training.
  • Maintains records related to the awarding of credit for students which includes withdrawn students, finalized students and any other students who haven’t completed their degree.
  • Occasionally works with companies to identify a professional training path for their employees to earn credits towards their degree.

Manages and coordinates the publication and distribution of the University Catalog. This includes:

  • Coordinating the retrieval of all current degree requirements and course descriptions from each University department. Verify approval of this information by the appropriate governance committees and edit copy for publication.
  • Working closely with University Catalog Committee and University Communications on designs and format the catalog.
  • After the catalogs are published coordinates distribution to all departments (distribution of the information online.)

Serves as Secretary to all Curriculum Committees. This includes:

  • Taking minutes at all meetings.
  • Documenting actions of Curriculum Committees in the catalog and Colleague.
  • Archiving minutes to retain tracking of faculty governance actions.

Website content & maintenance

  • Modifies website content based on approved changes from curriculum committees
  • Manages Registrar’s Office Twitter account

Communication

  • Oversees all language/letters on communications to students

Creates and maintains all master forms for the Registrar’s Office
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned or directed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   Position requires a Bachelor’s degree. A minimum of three (3) years of related experience in a similar position is required. Successful candidate will have experience with editing and strong English writing ability; strong communication skills, both oral and written; excellent proofreading and editing skills; proven experience in data entry of large amounts of data with high level of accuracy. Must be organized and a self-starter with good attention to detail. Ability to manage and handle complex administrative databases. Candidate must possess well-developed motivational skills and ability to work independently in a multi-task oriented environment. Ability to understand complex policies and procedures and interpret them to students. Must have exceptional communication, organizational and customer service skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks with tight deadlines. Must be able to competently interact with a diverse population of students, staff and faculty.
